The Adventure Begins!
Welcome to the Preparing for Travel section of your TripWheel. This section is designed to ensure that you and your students are fully prepared for the upcoming trip. From packing essentials to travel tips, we’ve got you covered.
Essential Pre-Trip Checklist
- Packing Essentials:
- Remind students to pack wisely. Comfortable shoes and clothing are a must, especially since the weather can change throughout the day. Layering is key—think cooler mornings and warmer afternoons.
- Students should pack a backpack for the bus ride with essentials like deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, any required medications, and snacks. Remember, suitcases won’t be accessible until you reach the hotel.
- Medication and Health:
- Discuss the process for turning in medication. If your school district’s requirements differ from those provided by Student Adventures, be sure to communicate the correct procedures and ensure that all necessary medical forms are completed and submitted.
- Encourage parents to pack any additional health-related items their child might need, such as hand sanitizer or a small first-aid kit.
- Behavior Expectations:
- Review the behavior expectations for the trip. Remind students that they are representing their school and community, and that respectful and responsible behavior is required at all times.
- Make sure students understand the rules for the bus and hotel, including noise levels, curfews, and the consequences for not following the guidelines.
- Final Reminders:
- Before departure, ensure that all required documents have been submitted, including permission slips, medical forms, and any other necessary paperwork.
- Double-check that everyone knows the meeting time and location for departure. Punctuality is crucial, as the buses will depart on schedule.
